• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Gone to Leyton Orient - undisclosed fee

Surprising given how the end of his loan spell seemed to go, but with his contract running down it makes sense for everyone to sort his future out now. Their fans seem pretty mixed on the news. He's a good L1 defender but the discipline issues (which we never really saw apart from the odd cynical booking when playing a high line and getting caught out) soured many on him.

Yes, I wish him all the best - he’s a genuinely home grown talent with an obvious love of the club. I like the O’s too - great ground, welcoming fans, and you have to admire them battling on despite the appeal of West Ham on their doorstep

I always thought that Brandon was going to make the step up. Good luck to him, just wish he had more time with our defence

I had the same view. Never seemed overly flustered when playing in a white shirt, looked accomplished enough to make it at Championship level. What do I know, eh?

Maybe this is one of those cases whereby a step down is required in order to step up.

I suspect that the actual timeline of events was something like this:

Orient: His loan is going well we would like to keep him on for the rest of the season
Swans: There is some interest elsewhere in buying him off us, you want?
Orient: We have him for the season, we don't need to buy now?
Swans: We are recalling Cooper with immediate effect
Orient: (fails to call bluff) Damn, okay we will make an offer.
Swans: (can't believe it worked) Offer accepted!

They didn't have him for the season. It was announced as a January loan when he went.

If I'm honest, there have been plenty of times when I've thought he was a better defender than Cabango as an Academy Graduate. I fully expected him to make it in the Championship after he didn't do much wrong in the handful of games he had for us and the rave reviews he had at Newport County - many of their fans are gutted he didn't sign for them.

When they were both 18 stepping up to the u23s I thought the same. Cooper has had some bad injuries since then, and the extra athletic capacity Cabango has makes a big difference (a big reason why Parker has been fast-tracked).
