A team abroad with money to spend has contacted us in buying Benda according to Alan Nixon.

If I had to guess it would be a German team low on goalkeepers like Hoffenheim.

Anybody wanna guess on how much we'd roughly get for him? Given his low experience, I'd say less than £2m

Wouldn't sell personally, if we don't get promoted Woodman will be pushing for a Newcastle start after signing a 3 year deal, Benda could end up being our first choice then, plus we haven't got a back up keeper.

Benda is still 2 years younger than Woodman, plenty of time for him to get his chance he's just played a season at L2 level and done well, if we can get a back up keeper then loan him to Swindon again and he may be our first choice next season when he's 22.

I'd have gone for an experienced old head looking for one more contract as backup for Benda rather than bring Woodman back.

We say that but there have been murmurs that we are looking to spend a little and that the aim is Premier League especially with the new shareholder on board.

Not saying it's true but some sensible investments might prove fruitful

Maybe not considerable fees. Say we get £5m for Ayew that would free up £9m if estimates of salary are true.

Even in the first summer after relegation we found £3m for Celina and a couple of other big fees. Say what you want about the owners, if money is available they spend it. Poorly for the most part granted.
