• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Migration Plans

Everything is pretty much set to be able to do the change in domain name. There is one thing outstanding which could be completed today at which point I will do the migration this evening, if it doesn't happen today then the scheduled day is Wednesday or Thursday this week (work commitments allowing)

At the point of migration, the Planet Swans forum and site will be placed into read only move and the databases all transferred and the redirects bought into place. Estimated this will take 2-4 hours but it could be significantly quicker.

Usernames will all transfer across, passwords appear to be a little more hit and miss largely as it seems that the current forum software provider changed the way that they are stored in the database at some point in the last two years which makes transferring harder. If yours does not work on moving then a simple reset of password will achieve the desired effect.

Most of the background work has been done on the "new" site, but some cannot be completed until the database transfers hence the time of transfer being a but woolly.

Please keep an eye out for exact date/times, it could be as soon as this evening.
