That was the first time I have been able to look at a photo from that day. I don’t usually like to think about that day either. We stopped in the services on the way home and I got off the coach and proceeded to lay down on the grass and stare into the sky, in sheer disbelief! I had to look after Jackforever too. He was somewhat apoplectic!

That was then to be followed by 2006 and Jackforever standing on the traffic island outside the Millennium Stadium and not moving or speaking for 45 minutes. We had to reboot him in the end.

I have always maintained that the play offs are the best way to get promoted - there is no better feeling than winning a play off final to go up

But losing them is the worst feeling ever - 1997 and 2006 will always live with me. I don't have the same feeling about 2021 though

Agreed.
Losing one to a retaken last minute kick, the other on pens.
Devastating doesn't come close. Was physically sick after both.
