Written about his girlfriend at the time, Elle MacPherson, but by the time it came out people thought it was about his then girlfriend, Christie Brinkley, as she was in the video. An homage to groups such as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, it spent 5 weeks at number 1.

Thanks, I enjoyed that. Haven't given them a fair shot as they always struck me as macho bullshit - like Pantera, but 20 years late to the party. I've always been drawn to the camper side of metal

I know what you mean. Modern ‘metal’ is very macho whereas the original concept was all flamboyance and fantasy with a lot of bands borrowing from classical. These days the intervention of Seattle, punk, hip-hop and blues has led it to be more diverse so these kind of bands have a little more freedom.

I still really enjoy these and have Saturday Playlist full of acoustic led 90’s hard rock. Give ‘em a spin, see what you think.
