I've been asked to try and obtain a high resolution image of this photo from the club. To do this I need to identify which game this photo came from. The gentleman in the main photo has passed away and his family would love to have this picture framed. However this print out from the Swans website is the only thing they have. The date in the top right hand corner is 09/11/2016.

I've looked through the results for the first team, under 23s and under 18s but can't trace the game in question.

I don't think these photos were published on 09/11/2016, but were printed out on that day. The webpage would normally be visible at the bottom of the paper, but that has been ripped off.

If you are photographed in one of the pictures, or know someone who was, and can put a date to the game, and who played, please post here. If anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful - Thanks

Stupid question here but is that a Marie Curie cancer badge or a daffodil for St David’s Day because if people are cheering young Swans on to victory it could be a under 21’s cup final or something towards the end of the season played in March.

The report must be a U23 game due to title of article?

The 8th Nov 2016 Swans U23 beat Plymouth 2-0 in the football League Trophy. BBC report of the game shows photos taken from Huw Evans Agency.

Could be that game from the Swans website?

Mate, you've hit the jackpot - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37916588

The official site doesn't list this game on the results for 1st team, U23 or U18. Now I have more information, I can approach the club.

Many Thanks

There’s no fixture for that on the official site but there is this one.

Good luck, I hope that you find it, I think we all know how much a well loved photo can mean to those left behind.

No joy unfortunately

Huw Evans website and Shutterstock only have on field photos uploaded of this game, and neither match report on both teams websites have included pictures

Brilliant topic - nice to see a problem being solved and hope that this brings comfort to the family

As it looks like the picture is either from the Evening Post or Western Mail is it worth contacting the reporters on Swans games to see if they know of ways to access archives from the papers

Just received an email from my contact at the Swans programme with a 4.5 MB picture attached.

Really couldn't have done it without the input on here. A special BIG thanks to Pacemaker.

Awesome!

Excellent so pleased to help for such a good cause, hopefully it will bring some happy memories for his loved ones.

Great effort by Stevethejack and everyone else involved to try and resolve this.👍🏻

Easy to see why the family would want a copy, it's a great photo.
