For what it's worth, he almost saved the film, but for an hour was bored shitless.

Sounds about right. Cage hasn’t made a decent film for years but he’s always entertaining in anything. He played Dracula in Renfield not so long ago. Terrible film. Cage was fantastically camp as Count D though.

Wasn't his father in the industry and got his career started, I'm sure I remember something being said about his background at some point, rich daddy or somin of that ilk etc?

I think he’s had issues with loads of things over the years. He’s churning out films for fun these days so he’s either skint or clean I guess. Or both.

I watched him in a war film a little while ago he was very good in that, brutal film though, think it was some enactment of a battle with the Jap's.
