Not only tonight, a remarkable achievement across the entire competition to date. It may be UEFA’s second club competition but there are big teams in the draw and taking down Dortmund is no mean feat in itself.

Seriously though, a hell of an achievement from them. Not often you see a team from a minor league make it to a European final. Now they've just got to beat the team that knocked out Barcelona!

How much weaker in reality is the Scottish League than, say, the Portuguese league? Granted, they have a big three instead of two, but their fourth team Braga patently aren't world beaters and the quality falls off dramatically from there.

This (insert number as appropriate) club league bull is unhelpful. Germany is a one club league, as skewed and one horse raceish as the Cymru Premier on the face of it, but while not being on a level with the Prem and La Liga, Bayern's inferiors can't be dismissed out of hand as their form in Europe's second string tournaments this season goes to prove. And it is, after all, the fourth strongest League in the world.

The coefficients are useful because they track all the clubs in European competition. So even though Germany is dominated by Bayern and France by PSG, the table shows that the other clubs perform consistently better in Europe than Scotland's clubs.

Funny you mention Braga. If you look at the club coefficients rather than the league, Rangers are only 1 place ahead of them in 34th, even including this season's points! I guess that winning the final would give them a boost up the table though.

Celtic are all the way down in 51st and their next best is Aberdeen in 136th! Despite qualifying for Europe every season, Aberdeen are way behind clubs like Burnley, who only have 1 qualifying season!

Think it's fair to say that the Scottish League is a minor league based on this.
