Another stalwart of my car's music library, the 'Moving Waves' album, but I think it's a later release than the original because as well as Hocus Pocus, its got Sylvia and House of the King amongst other tracks. The later was used as a theme tune for seventies science anorak TV magazine show 'Don't Ask Me'.

I have moving waves on vinyl.

I no longer have anything to play vinyl, and never will again, but I can't part with all the plastic. Stupid I know.

I can imagine you me and Mutey having critical beer infused listening sessions. We'd have to wean mutey off his more extreme jazz though...

Letting your vinyl lie idle is a shame! You don't need to spend a fortune on a decent turntable based system. Should you so wish, of course

First thing I did on retiring was get the turntable serviced with new stylus and band.

I’ve got Moving Waves on vinyl too, and yes we three and Cygnus have very similar tastes. I’ll just have to get you all into jazz, after all, all prog and rock have improvised periods just like jazz!

I know, I had a Linn back in the day, but I invested heavily in CD kit and it's impossible to just match the sound, so it'll either be better or worse, making the other one sound a bit unsatisfactory. Despite what people say, the CD sound is at least as good as vinyl (to me), so I duplicated most but not all of my records on CD. I still don't want to dispose of the LPs though...it would feel like giving part of me away. As I say nuts...I'm sure others could get pleasure from them.

I'm afraid jazz is a blind spot for me too, although I do have "Art Pepper Meets the Rythm Section" on CD. It was a birthday present from Mrs Pego because I'm a big fan of the Harry Bosch detective novels of Michael Connolly, and Bosch is supposedly a big Art Pepper fan. It's OK as background music
