Some England players thinking of pulling out of families aren't allowed to travel.

It might be for the best if there's a sabbatical as I feel since 2005 it's been overplayed.

Highly paid professional sportsmen mind, if they refuse to travel because the can't take thier families with them and be apart, hold up in thier 5 star accommodation for a few months, then relieve them of thier very lucrative central contracts.
They should try working on an oil rig in the North Sea in February for a month perhaps 👍

It’s been played the same number of times it’s always been played.

Really? Surprised by that.
I stand corrected.

Aye. There was one occasion where they brought the winter series forward a year to avoid a clash with the World Cup, 2013ish I think, which meant we played them here in our summer and then away a few months later instead of the usual 18 month gap but that was a scheduling change rather than an extra series.

Did some series get cancelled back in the Packer era?

Doesn’t look like. Six series in 10 years in the 70s.

From what I remember the England team were obviously somewhat depleted. Sky regularly play the 'lunch' documentary series on the Packer era.

There’s a cracking BT Sport film about the whole Packer thing. About 90mins. Cracking watch it is.

I'll have a search for that later

Rugby League not prepared to travel for world cup over here, we should reciprocate.

Tit for tat...
Not for me, let's move forward.
