I’m not sure losing £13-14 million per season for 3 consecutive years can be seen as good management no matter how bonkers football finances are. Relying on owners with no real attachment to the club covering that for a prolonged period is risky at best IMO.

Strangely, as someone else mentioned I remember the friendly at the Vetch (although wouldn’t have remembered his name) as well! I guess it was unusual at the time as I’m sure there’s loads of UK based players that have played in the odd friendly that I’d never remember!
