The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

I think we’ll need to bring in a CB whatever happens, need to get cover for Casey leaving. Not sure how much scope there is to do anything else. Think the owners/club only want to do deals if that player would definitely improve us like Rak-Sakyi would have.

    Marcelo Bielsa/ Vitor Matos

Agree. Had we scored another against Birmingham in the first half, I don’t think they would have had the belief to come back given their away form at the moment. We’ve got to bring in some players this summer who will make an impact for us in the final 3rd. I believe there is potential for...

Summer Window - Who Goes and Who Stays?

It’s possible Matos might want a bit more speed up front to take advantage of the pressing situations we’re creating these days, that’s the only reason I think we may cash in on Vipotnik. I’m a big fan of his though and it’ll be sad to see him leave if he does. Galbraith I can just see being...

Summer Window - Who Goes and Who Stays?

I can see Vipotnik and Galbraith being sold if we get good 10m+ offers for them. I think Key will go if he’s not happy becoming a back up. Not too many others I’d expect to be leaving.

    Kyle Joseph & BW

Reliable journalist said we were looking at a high end League One loan for him. I bet we’ll see him go somewhere before the end of the window. He looks promising and if he can prove himself at that level, could be ready to step up for us next season.

Thought that was our best league performance this season to be honest. Created multiple good moments and quality chances. Hit the crossbar 3 times. On most other days it’s 3 points. Our performances are trending upwards and we’re starting to click. Widell and his work-rate are absolutely vital...

Exactly, there’s ambition being shown off the pitch and an effort to build a deeper squad on it. The only thing that has been a big mistake seems to be our manager appointment last summer, I think the club will head on an upward trajectory hopefully, now that we have Matos in, who seems to have...

Maybe Cullen is seen as back up with Idah out?

I suppose that’s my point. Our recruitment and ownership seem to want to be ambitious but we don’t match that ambition at the moment. We have to change the perception of us as mid-table fodder for us to be in the conversation for the players we’re targeting.

I think that’s what puts the emphasis on the sporting project being a good one. Good players will come here if we’re competitive and look like a club on the up. Coventry isn’t one of the premier destinations in the UK but plenty of decent players have joined them recently including our captain...

I think that’s been the case with us and a lot of players recently. Our striker targets didn’t want to join us in the summer either. We’ve got to start becoming a club that top targets want to come to or these owners will never get anywhere. I don’t mean top players btw, I mean our top targets.

Fact is, we are 17th in the league and won’t look attractive at the moment. If I had just been on loan at Sheffield United and done well as Rak-Sakyi has, I wouldn’t want to be going to the bottom half of the Championship either. Our pull depends on our league position and we can’t use that...

Rak-Sakyi not going to happen by the looks of things. Real shame, quality player. We have to be competing higher up to be able to attract that standard of player though unfortunately. Not the end of the world as the squad isn’t lacking for bodies and apart from probably needing a CB, we can...

Sadly it was just another case of an interim having an initial impact only to not be up to the job full time. Look at Tonda Eckert at Southampton, brilliant taking over from Still initially but they’ve only won 2 league games since he was given the job and are winless in five championship games...

I think that would make more sense, capable of starting in the Championship for me so definitely the right move for him. Hope we can get a CB through the door.

Re Casey, I would ask West Ham: what did you expect? By the time we signed Casey on loan we had already signed Burgess and had Cabango as a starter. If this is about game time Casey was never going to be a regular for us in the Championship and West Ham presumably knew that. Don’t get me...

Wales’ involvement in the second goal against West Brom was great to see. Doesn’t look physically out of his depth either. Some back up for striker would be helpful but I’d be happy for him to take that role if we don’t do anything in the market.

I agree re revenue and from the perspective of the manager and it’s always a shame to get knocked out of any competition. This season though, I’m not particularly sorry to see us have less games to play. For me, this is the most under threat our position in the Championship has been since...
