    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

If that happens, then I’d agree that it probably goes in our favour in terms of keeping him. I’d love to see him here next season personally with some goalscoring wingers alongside him. Think we also need to factor in Vipotnik himself, if he gets offered a much higher salary in a different...

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

This is the tricky part. We’d all like him to stay but I don’t know if we can afford not sell someone like him at the peak of his worth. That’s what our transfer model is meant to be all about, sell for 20mill (hopefully) and use it to improve the rest of the squad.

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

I honestly don’t know how much that podcast actually watch us to be honest. Before we appointed Matos, one of them was saying we should appoint Skubala from Lincoln who is the polar opposite of a Swansea City manager in terms of style. VP has things to work on but to not rate him is some...

    S25/26| The Official Match Thread | Derby 2 Swansea 0 | Att: 27,841 | 14/02/26 | The EFL Championship | Pride Park Stadium

That consistency point is key. We’ve been playing well for a while away from home and not getting results, hopefully we show up with another good performance and can get something out of it.

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

Yes but they will buy Vipotnik if they really want him, they’re certainly not short of cash. Could turn out that one or both of those strikers isn’t up to it (although one did score at the weekend).

Will be tough, even if Derby are seemingly better away. Gotta back us though. Going 0-1. Not sure who will score it but feel like it’ll be a 90th minute winner for us.

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

Yeah he only really has the pace thing holding him back a bit. I do think it might put off some PL clubs but then you look at someone like Chris Wood who has managed to find success and also Igor Thiago this season who is not the quickest of movers. VP may not be the best presser or at getting...

    Vipotnik - Top Scorer (Championship)

You’d imagine if he hits 20, we can look at 15-20 million in the summer as a fair valuation (if we decide to sell). We hold all the cards this time. He’s a young player with further development ahead, he’s got 2 years left with us and we don’t have to sell him. Don’t think we could be in a...

    Malick Yalcouye

I do think we may regret not involving Yalcouye a bit more than we have done so far. He hasn’t always been brilliant but there are times when he looks like the best player on the pitch and I don’t think there are many players in the Championship that look as good as him when he’s on it...

    Burnley 100 points...

Really good point. Leeds also brought in multiple new players, the side is a lot more physical and it’s helping them compete. Dan James can’t get a start these days.

Was actually one I was hoping we’d look at for RB (if we could afford the wages) always thought he was decent. A difficult time for Wednesday, have to feel for them.

I believe those were actually the only chances they had in those games, according to one of their fans previewing the game on Swans Cast. He also said that they get steamrolled by teams in midfield. If we’re at our best I think we can come through okay, may only be a 1-0 or a 2-1 even.

Looking at some of the stats. Wednesday have a combined 5 shots on target in their last 5 games (if Google is to be believed). You’d like to think we come out of this game with 3 points. I understand all the nerves though. Two ex-players playing against us and the potential that we are going to...

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

Was saying this to someone the other day, we don’t usually sign players who have good goal scoring records, even in the Swedish/Dutch leagues. Vipotnik had done well for Maribor and got 10 in France for Bordeaux but we only got him due to their collapse. Feels like a shift from our normal...

It’s nuts, what has happened to them in 5 years. Whatever else we may say or think, you can’t fault the commitment from McElhenney and Reynolds.

What worries me more than spending on transfer fees is the wages. So easy for numbers to get silly, especially when clubs are desperate to sign a player. We know all too well from our PL era, how wages can climb and leave you selling off everything in sight.

I believe so, looking at Wrexham, they probably have some of the biggest revenue numbers in the league and have spent big since making it to the Championship. They were recently linked to Cherif for £12M who also had interest from Palace (I don’t know if Wrexham interest was just paper talk...

Do you think it’s “change the fortunes of club entirely” kind of money?

The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread - Now Closed!

Yeah, it’s one of those that might work out fine but there’s always that risk in the background. That’s why Bobby Wales going may not be the best move. If the loan is to give him first team minutes ready for next season, why not test him as second striker over this period? I get that he’d just...
