I’d argue most people with eyes can see our chance creation is a lot better recently under Matos.

Yeah but a key difference between then and now is we had low xg and low goals. Now our xg each game is steadily improving and the goals will follow. We were unlucky today not to get more.

It’s definitely a factor. Loads of players who come here end up loving it and staying. but getting them here initially will always be always be a challenge.

Guehi was on loan to us though so you can’t compare him to someone we bought. It would be next to impossible for us to attract talent like that, and if we did they wouldn’t stay for very long. The players we’ve got are the players we can get.

Matchday Experience Working Group (MEWG) – Update 9: January 2026

Yeah they could easily be shifted over splitting the north stand in half for home and away support

Yeah but you shouldn’t just write players off without giving them a chance to adapt and grow in to the league. A lot of these players are young and still learning. With the right coaching they’ve all got potential to be better.

It’s not really an issue when there are empty seats elsewhere. I’m sure they could shove the away fans over to the corner and open up more home seats behind the goal there.

They do a good deal for families, kids are basically free. But they should just do a general discount for that stand and the corners to get bums on seats. I think behind the goals is a great place to watch the game especially when we grab a late goal.

I’m just calling out crap when I see it. Not my fault you spout so much of it. I was there, not that many empty seat bar the corners and the away end.

Were you actually at those games? Or do you need a trip to specsavers?

    Matos

I was curious too so I’ve done some digging in the stats. Looking at the average xg under Matos it comes out as 1.09xg per game, that compares to a season average of 0.89xg per game. For xg goals against us our average with Matos is 0.99xga and that compares to the season average of 1.18xga...

I think most of us will agree we don’t want to piss on our managers or Smurph. Though I’ve heard some people are in to that sort of thing 🤣

    DOF

Thing is if the majority of your posts are negative people will start dismissing them. There are a select few on here that never have anything good to say and it’s easy to spot. On the coaches thing I don’t know the actual numbers of coaches by teams. But the dugouts have grown year by year as...

    DOF

You seem shocked that on a fan forum fans are going to defend their team. People come here because they enjoy watching the Swans play football and they want to talk about it. Yes things this season started really bad, but it’s starting to turn a corner. People can see that and are getting...

    Marko Stamenic

I would say we’re a better midfield despite Galbraith at RB is more accurate. He hasn’t really had the chance to show what he can do there under Matos. Better team yes, but that’s because we have someone who can actually defend the wing now.

We shouldn’t be writing anyone off. Most of the team is young and they all have potential to do better. They’ve had awful coaching for a long time, and we can already see a huge improvement as a team. Not everyone is going to have a good game all the time. But Franco gives absolutely everything...

I didn’t think we were awful either tbh I’m just too happy to argue about anything haha
