Cullen is the glaring issue. I think Matos is aware and I have a sneaking suspicion that he may be moved on.
For me the problem is highlighted in players like Widell. I rate him highly, when he starts he’s everywhere, getting chances (and missing them) and as soon as he goes off we fall apart.
But then, when he’s a sub we can be on top in a game, he comes on and we lose control.
Odd. Happens with the full backs too.

Not a criticism though, we’ve been a good side since November and the future is bright.
I never got that impression on Matos with Cullen. Matos was singing his praises few weeks ago and clearly likes him. For me Cullen has his moments. But if we want to go up a level then he has to go alongside Cooper, Santos, Ward.

Its only natural that Matos will publicly back his own player
I am sure it wont have gone unnoticed though how much negative impact he has on our control of a game

Ultimately our points tally since Vitor took over has been play off form

Of course keeping up that form when under pressure is a different kind of test that almost none of these players have had before. The few times we managed to grind our way into the possibility of the playoffs this season we choked in the pivotal games.

Evolution rather than revolution is definitely going to be the transfer strategy this summer
We have 3-4 players that we can build a promotion winning team around, we just need to improve in central defense and on the wings
All things considered and if we can keep the core players with VP likely to go our season end is good considering the drama we had early in the season

10th (2018-19), 6th (2019-20), 4th (2020-21), 15th (2021-22), 10th (2022-23), 14th (2023-24), and 11th (2025-26).

And that's why I would have dressing room turn on me. I would be doing a Fergie 😂. To be fair to Matos he is far more composed and better with players than Williams, Martin, Duff and few others.

Lovely day out. Travelling Jacks in great form, beautiful weather and a spirited performance. Last game we more than held our own against a team in a similar league position to us, today we matched a team contesting for promotion. Definitely progressing. Had some good chats with Norwich fans before and after the match too.

Yeah, that’s an odd thing. I’ve lost count of the times the dubs have hurt us rather than help. It’s been a bit better lately.

Walta may help fill a void when he’s up to speed next year. He’s been looking better recently, although still work in progress.

Completely, he’s in the deadwood pile.
I like to think that Matos is just being savvy, big him up, give him some game time, hope he nabs a goal and thus keep his transfer value and interest up. I really don’t want to dig out the lad, he’s a fan on the pitch, but frequently he looks like he doesn’t belong there

Since Matos took over we’d be 11th.

Which is the same as we are over the season.

Today showed the good and bad. Played really well in parts without really threatening to score. And spent the last 25 minutes hoofing the ball pretty aimlessly.

Cullen was awful btw.

And their penalty I thought was definitely not a penalty in real time and definitely a penalty on replay.

We need to find a way to continue our energy and press but be able to keep the ball better and show more creativity.

It will need some different players. Sadly probably funded by Vipotnik. Hopefully we can replace his goals from somewhere. At the moment we look like we have no one else who could score even 10 in a season let alone 20+.

The Cullen conundrum. Over 200 appearances for Swansea City and 15 full Wales caps. How many on here can match that?
Cullen is a better footballer than any of us on here, by an absolute mile. He himself probably doesn’t even know how good he is compared to the ‘man on the street’.

The problem though is that 95% of the footballers in the league we play in are better than him.

Aye, better inform Craig Bellamy of this stat...
