Woman charged with gross negligence manslaughter

Nearly three years to bring it to this decision is frankly shocking.
 
Let’s see what the trial brings first. No one is guilty of anything yet. And nothing will bring those poor people back and make it right for their families. No winners here whatever happens.

What's the point in jail. No deterrent as you can't deter a terrible mistake as she must have thought it safe, and no punishment will be worse than the poor woman living with the consequences, nor help the victims. Maybe they will want 'revenge' in the guise of 'justice' but that won't do anything to make them better. Not sure how I'd feel if my wife (who paddleboards) was one of these poor people.

It's not as if she was a drunk, drugged, speeding driver. Do they even get jail these days?

Actually reading the detail it depends what the 'gross negligence' was.
